Falconry

Since 2001, there has been a falconry at Tierpark Sababurg just below the castle.

From March to October, three daily (except on Mondays) flight demonstrations take place at 11:30 AM, 2:00 PM, and 4:15 PM. In addition, in November, two extra flight demonstrations per day (except on Mondays) occur at 11:30 AM and 2:00 PM.

During the approximately 30-minute flight show, our falconry team showcases the swift falcons, buzzards, majestic eagles, and silently flying owls with their aerial skills.

For those who dare, you can become a falconer for a moment: equipped with a glove, you'll have a raptor on your hand, and our falconry team will take a souvenir photo for you. And if you want to do more than just watch the flight, you can even spend a whole day as a falconer. You'll help care for and feed the birds along with our team. You'll assist with cleaning the accommodations, flight training, and the flight show. This special offer, "A Day as a Falconer," is a popular choice or a gift option.

Outside of the flight demonstrations, the birds can be viewed at the Birds of Prey Center. However, the center is closed on Mondays and from December to the end of February.
