Petting Zoo

Many contact zones in the Children's Zoo and at the farm allow for up-close encounters with the animals. Some of them can even be petted or fed with the animal park's own food. These interactions with visitors are enriching for the animals as well.

Please stay on the designated paths. The animals initiate contact with people on their own!

But be careful: Not all contact areas allow feeding. Dogs are not allowed in these areas.

Contact areas can be found here:

  • In the Children's Zoo: Humboldt penguins, Bennett's wallabies, budgerigars, dwarf rabbits, dwarf goats, pot-bellied pigs
  • At the farm: Donkey meadow, Thuringian goats, Leine sheep, German saddleback pigs
  • In the Wild Park: Mouflons and European fallow deer
  • Waterfowl enclosure
