The Farm

In the Arche Park and the associated farm since 2006, we maintain old and endangered domestic animal breeds. By keeping these original breeds, Tierpark Sababurg aims to contribute to their preservation and the conservation of their diversity.

The domestic animal breeds are categorized by the GEH (Society for the Conservation of Old and Endangered Domestic Animal Breeds) based on their level of endangerment, as listed in the "Red List":

In 2006, Tierpark Sababurg became the first institution in Hessen to be awarded the title of "Arche-Park" by the GEH.

The donkey pasture and some pasture areas at the farm are accessible to visitors. Here, visitors are allowed to pet donkeys, sheep, goats, and pigs.
